Vol. 491 No. 6

Prohibition of Ticket Touts Bill, 1998: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to render it unlawful for any unauthorised person to sell, or offer for sale tickets for major sporting, musical or theatrical events for a price in excess of the officially designated price.

Is the Bill being opposed?

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage will, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.

I move: "That the Bill be taken in Private Members' time."

Question put and agreed to.
