Additional resources were made available to the Southern Health Board in 1998 which enabled some improvement to be made in the rate of payment to home helps. Nevertheless, I accept that the issue of payments to home helps in the Southern Health Board area requires further review and this matter will be actively considered in the light of the availability of resources in 1999.
