124 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding will be provided in the 1998 health budget for the palliative care unit (details supplied) at the County Hospital, Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24926/98]

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Dr. Moffatt):

I have received a proposal from the Western Health Board for funding of the palliative care unit in Roscommon County Hospital. The board's proposals are currently being examined in the Department and will responded to as soon as possible.
