[10663/99]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the number of new vehicles registered in County Meath and the amount of vehicle registration tax, VRT, collected for each of the years from 1994 to 1998 is as follows:

1995

3,029

7,102,653

1996

4,029

9,557,219

£

1997

5,100

12,465,336

It is regretted that the information requested by the Deputy in relation to motor vehicle excise duty, which was applicable prior to the introduction of VRT, is not available as this data was never captured in the form requested.
