Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health and Personal Social Services.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

624 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the facilities his Department will provide for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 to learn sign language in order that she can communicate with her two year old daughter who is severely deaf; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24797/00]

The provision of health and personal social services to persons with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
