Vol. 527 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Aid.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

82 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide funding for the Towers Friendship and Respite Centre at Ballybunion, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28956/00]

My Department received an application for national lottery funding in respect of the Towers Friendship and Respite Centre and a grant of £50,000 has been provided. The Southern Health Board, which is responsible for the provision of health services within the area, has advised that it is discussing with the St. Vincent de Paul Society both the matter of the future running costs of the new centre and also the provision of grant aid to furnish the centre.
