174 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if, in respect of the provision of a proposed Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare, his Department or other agency under the aegis of his Department has attempted to finalise matters in regard to the site acquisition and purchase; the precise number of inquiries made in this regard in the past six months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As I indicated in response to previous questions, two sites, one in the vicinity of Leixlip RC church and the other adjacent to the main street are under consideration for the provision of a new Garda station at Leixlip. Discussions are ongoing with the owners of both sites. The acquisition of a site for a Garda station is being afforded top priority and I assure the Deputy that my office is doing everything possible to bring this matter to a speedy conclusion.
