213 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Finance if he will sanction the removal or rebatement of excise duty on non-automotive fuels used for heating purposes in the poultry sector in order to compete on energy terms with the poultry production sector in the North of Ireland and the United Kingdom. I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 127 on 13 February 2001. I have no such plans. The European Commission has proposed substantial increases in existing EU minima in its energy tax proposal.
