Vol. 530 No. 6

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Seán Haughey

Question:

289 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the opening hours for tourists visiting the Custom House; if he will extend these hours to allow visits after 6 p.m., particularly during the summer months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4546/01]

In the period mid-March to the end of October the Custom House visitor centre is open from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. For the rest of the year the centre is open from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Wednesday to Friday, and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Sundays and bank holidays.

I have no proposals at present to extend the opening hours. However, the matter will be kept under review in the light of demand.
