Written Answers. - Roads Projects.

Seán Ryan

Question:

298 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, in respect of the proposed second Westlink bridge, he will arrange to include facilities for pedestrians and cyclists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4632/01]

The second Westlink bridge has been approved as a motorway and will form part of the M50. Section 43(4)(a) of the Roads Act, 1993 prohibits the use of motorways generally by pedestrians and pedal cyclists.
