68 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance when he expects to bring proposals to Government for the establishment of a single regulatory authority for the financial institutions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4678/01]

I have been working closely on this matter with the Tánaiste. The proposals have been put to Government and a public announcement will be made shortly.
