Question:256 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding provision of an old people's home in Ballinrobe, County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16028/01]
Written Answers. - Care of the Elderly.
The provision of health services in Ballinrobe, County Mayo, is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. The board has informed me that the assessment of two site options in Ballinrobe for the proposed community nursing unit is now at an advanced stage and will be completed shortly. The board also states that, depending on the outcome of the assessment, it will be making a firm decision on a location for the unit. At this point, further progress on the issue will be considered by the board.
