206 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food his views on recently published research on farming practice in the Burren; if the expert in question will continue to be available to farmers in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16979/03]
I have complimented the author of the publication referred to for his excellent research on the Burren, the results of which have been recently published. The research was commissioned by Teagasc, and I am pleased that my Department was in a position to support the project by providing funding in the region of €22,000 towards financing the Walsh Fellowship study under which the research was carried out. Provision for further related research or advice in the area falls within the remit of Teagasc.
