316 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education and Science the number in respect of the sections of his Department or boards or agencies operating under the aegis of his Department, it is proposed to decentralise which are housed in leased office space or premises; the annual amount paid in rent in each case; when the lease runs out in each case; if there are financial penalties involved in the breaking of the lease in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey):

The information requested by the Deputy for office accommodation forms a significant block of work and the Office of Public Works, which is responsible for the provision of Government office accommodation, has been requested to compile the relevant information. Information in respect of leased accommodation for which the Office of Public Works does not have direct responsibility will be compiled by this Department. A composite reply will issue to the Deputy as soon as possible.
