Proposed Annulment of Statutory Instrument: Motion.

Given what has happened, I wish to propose the following motion that I believe reflects the views of the joint committee. I move:

That the Joint Committee on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources recommends the annulment of the Broadcasting Act 2009 (section 33) Levy Order 2010, SI 7 of 2010, in respect of the levy scheme to fund the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, to allow for scrutiny by this joint committee of the estimates, with a view to reviewing the cost effectiveness of the service in light of its impact on the industry in the current serious economic recession.
