I remind members and delegates to ensure their mobile phones are switched off. It is not sufficient to leave them in silent mode. They need to be switched off, as otherwise they will interfere with the broadcasting equipment.
Apologies have been received from Deputy Dara Murphy. I inform members that this is the last occasion on which the joint committee will be assisted by Mr. John Hamilton. As they will be aware, John has worked with the committee for many years, during which time we have received stalwart service from him. Throughout my time as a member of the committee I have always found him very helpful and will, as I am sure will other members, be very sorry to see him move on. However, he is moving on to bigger and better things. I am sure members will join me in wishing him the very best in the future.
