Messages to Dáil and Seanad.

In accordance with Standing Order 85, the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Select Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Dáil Éireann approve the exercise by the State of the option or discretion provided by Article 1.11 of the Treaty of Amsterdam to take part in the adoption of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for a Council Framework Decision on simplifying the exchange of information and intelligence between law enforcement authorities of the Member States of the European Union,

a copy of which proposed measure was laid before Dáil Éireann on 15 May 2006.

In accordance with Standing Order 67, the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Select Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Seanad Éireann approve the exercise by the State of the option or discretion provided by Article 1.11 of the Treaty of Amsterdam to take part in the adoption of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for a Council Framework Decision on simplifying the exchange of information and intelligence between law enforcement authorties of the Member States of the European Union,

a copy of which proposed measure was laid before Seanad Éireann on 15 May 2006.

The joint committee adjourned at 10.50 a.m. until 9.30 a.m. on Thursday, 25 May 2006.
