JOINT COMMITTEE ON JUSTICE, EQUALITY, DEFENCE AND WOMEN'S RIGHTS debate -
Wednesday, 26 Nov 2008

Business of Joint Committee.

The minutes of yesterday's joint committee meeting have been circulated. Are they agreed? Agreed. Is it agreed to defer the committee's consideration of its correspondence until its next meeting? Agreed.

I have been advised by the clerk that a request has been made in respect of the order in which we should deal with the items on today's agenda. The motion on combating terrorism is linked with the briefing on the forthcoming meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. With the agreement of members, we will deal with the motion on the renewal of provisions of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, then consider the motion on combating terrorism, then receive a briefing on the meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council and finally deal with the motion on Eurojust. Is that agreed? Agreed.
