Messages to Dáil and Seanad.

In accordance with Standing Order 87, the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Dáil Éireann approves the following proposed measure in draft:

an initiative for a directive of the European Parliament and the Council on the rights to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings,

copies of which were laid before Dáil Éireann on 20 January 2010.

In accordance with Standing Order 72, the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Seanad Éireann approves the following proposed measure in draft:

an initiative for a directive of the European Parliament and the Council on the rights to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings,

copies of which were laid before Seanad Éireann on 20 January 2010.

In accordance with Standing Order 72, the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Seanad Éireann approves the following order in draft:

Defamation Act 2009 (Press Council) Order 2010,

copies of which were laid before Seanad Éireann on 22 March 2010.

The joint committee went into private session at 4.05 p.m. and adjourned at 4.10 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 28 April 2010.
