JOINT COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORT debate -
Wednesday, 13 Jan 2010

Business of Joint Committee.

We are supposed to go back into private session but I am inclined to leave the matter of the ports for now. While it is very important, I am a bit drained.

The Chairman is lucky he is still here.

Mr. Raymond Burke has produced a very good draft report on the ports. What we should do is discuss this at the beginning of another meeting, at which time we will all be fresh.

Can we be made aware of the salaries of the chief executives, management team personnel and harbour masters in each of the ports if they are not already known?

Mr. Raymond Burke

I can provide them in an appendix.

The joint committee went into private session at 5.50 p.m. and resumed in public session at 5.55 p.m.

We will continue the discussion in private session at the beginning of another meeting, possibly on 10 February, before we meet the representatives from Shannon Foynes Port Company.

I am very impressed with what I read in the report.

It is a very good report.

It is well put together.

I will not be present at our next meeting because I will be in Strasbourg. The Vice Chairman will step in.

The joint committee adjourned at 5.55 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 20 January 2010.
