Regarding the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Bill, the Minister has gone to take part in a division.
Public Business. - Business of the Seanad.
Leas Chathaoirleach
Could we sit to-morrow to take this Bill?
We may have the Finance Bill to-morrow as well.
If we heard the Minister's opening speech we could adjourn until to-morrow.
It is very important that we should take the Second Reading of this Bill this week.
Leas Chathaoirleach
Could we not sit to-morrow? Especially as we, very probably, will have the Finance Bill.
I propose that we adjourn until next Wednesday.
Leas Chathaoirleach
This Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Bill is important.
In any case, we have not met for two or three weeks. These two items were before us, and surely to adjourn to next week would be a dereliction of duty.
Leas Chathaoirleach
If the Seanad thought fit, we could meet to-morrow, as we will probably have the Finance Bill.
We cannot have the Finance Bill.
There are enough members to consider the Bill without putting country members to the inconvenience of coming up. I do not think it would inconvenience the Seanad to sit to-morrow.
The Seanad adjourned at 6.25 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, 11th July.
