Vol. 57 No. 8

Private Business. - Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as follows: Nos. 3, 5 and 4.

Is that a change in the order we had up to recently?

The Guardianship of Infants Bill, 1963, is, of course, at Second Stage and the Protection of Animals (Amendment) Bill, 1963, is at Committee Stage. We would like to have it finished, if possible, because those who are interested in it may not be available later on.

The reason I asked is that I have tabled amendments in relation to the Criminal Justice Bill, 1963, and it may happen that I shall not be able to move them. I wonder if, in these circumstances, the Bill might not be completed today and I could move my amendments on Report Stage.

I suggest that the Senator move his amendments on Report Stage.

On a point of order, can a Senator raise any matter on the Adjournment? The reason I ask this question is that I got a booklet in my post today from the Minister for External Affairs——

The Senator should have given notice to the Chair about this matter.

I got the post only about half an hour ago.
