I have notice from Senator Michael D. Higgins that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The categorical refusal of students for consideration in certain areas for benefit or assistance on the automatic assumption that they are being supported by their families and the hardship that such categorical rejection is causing and to seek clarification on the matter which appears to be a frustration of the Social Welfare Acts.
I regard the matter as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. or earlier if the business ordered is concluded.
