Vol. 122 No. 21

Dublin City University Bill, 1989: Second and Subsequent Stages.

In accordance with the Order of the House I must now put the question: Dublin City University Bill, 1989. That the Bill is hereby read for a Second Time; the Bill is hereby agreed to in Committee, is reported to the House without amendment; that Fourth Stage is hereby completed and the Bill is hereby passed."

Question put and agreed to.

I do not intend to detain the House any longer. I want merely to repeat my thanks to all Senators who contributed to the debate today. It has been a lively and interesting day, in the course of which — at approximately 2 o'clock — I felt a certain sense of haste. Now I have a sense of not wanting to leave. That is evidence of the ambience of the Chamber and the tenor and import of the debate as it developed through all Stages.

All of us today, including yourself a Chathaoirligh, through your wise guidance of the House and its affairs, will appear in the history books as important players on the stage of the first day of June 1989 which saw the passage of these two Bills.

When is it proposed to sit again?

I propose that we adjourn sine die.

Is that agreed? Agreed.
