Request under Standing Order 29.

I have had notice from Senator Ross regarding a motion he wishes to raise under Standing Order 29. Now I call on Senator Ross to give notice of the motion before I give my ruling.

I wish to move a motion for the Adjournment of the Seanad on a specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent consideration, the matter being the collapse in the extradition arrangements between Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Acting Chairman

I have given careful consideration to the matter raised by Senator Ross. I do not consider it to be a matter contemplated by Standing Order 29. I regret, therefore, that I have to rule it out of order.

Thank you for your ruling. Are you aware that this was allowed as a matter of urgency——

I am sorry, but I cannot allow any debate whatsoever on the motion. Thank you, Senator. Senator McDonald to resume please.
