Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Connor that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to provide funding for stages one and two of the Castlereagh sewerage scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs to address the issue of social welfare entitlements for a former taxi driver, details supplied, now disabled, who is on hunger and thirst strike.

I have also received notice from Senator Henry that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development to promote all-island animal tracing schemes.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development to address the delays that exist in his Department relating to payments to farmers, including headage, ten and 22-month premia, suckler cow and extensification grants, the reason for those delays and whether he is aware of the financial hardship experienced by farmers as a result of such delays.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected Senators Connor's, Costello's and Henry's matters and they will be taken at the con clusion of business. Senator Taylor-Quinn may give notice on another day of the matter which she wishes to raise.
