Vol. 184 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

There are no matters on the Adjournment today, but I remind Senators of the provision under Standing Order 29, which states that a Senator must give notice in writing of any matter that he or she wishes to raise on the Adjournment before 3 p.m. the previous day. The practice has developed that some Senators phone the text of the motion to the Seanad Office. However, because of the difficulties thus created, I will not accept any more matters on the Adjournment unless they are in written or electronic form. I would like the Whips to convey that ruling to their respective Senators.
