Vol. 249 No. 1

Convictions for Certain Sexual Offences (Apology and Exoneration) Bill 2016: First Stage

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to provide for an apology to and exoneration of persons convicted of consensual same-sex sexual acts, on the grounds that prosecutions for such offences were improperly discriminatory, contrary to human dignity and in breach of personal privacy and autonomy; and to provide for related matters.

I am happy to second the proposal.

Question put and agreed to.

When is it proposed to take Committee Stage?

Is that agreed? Agreed.

Second Stage ordered for Tuesday, 13 December 2016.
