Report of Select Committee.

The Select Committee on Environment and Local Government has completed its consideration of the following Revised Estimate for the Public Service for the services of the year ending 31 December 1999 - - Vote 25, Environment and Local Government. In accordance with Standing Order 79(b) the Select Committee asks the Clerk to the Committee to convey that message to the Clerk of the Dáil.

No, Sir, it is not agreed.

The question is carried.

It is my understanding that the question must be agreed. As I have registered my dissent in regard to the proposal, are you not required to call a vote?

According to Standing Orders, no votes are called on Estimates.

I stand corrected and defer to your superior knowledge on this matter.

On behalf of the Select Committee I thank the Minister, the Ministers of State and the departmental officials for their partici-pation in today's consideration of the Revised Estimates.

Report agreed to.

Ordered to report to the Dáil accordingly.

The Select Committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m.
