Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reason the hair and beauty sector that are primarily small businesses in the retail sector, have been excluded from the second payment of the increased cost of business grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The decision to allow for a second, or double, payment for businesses operating in certain sectors was informed by the "An Assessment of the Cumulative Impact of Proposed Measures to Improve Working Conditions in Ireland" Report.
In the Executive Summary, it is noted that it is expected that the cumulative impact of these measures will vary from one sector to another, and even between businesses operating in the same sector.
