Deputy John Brady asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform the total breakdown of costs to date to progress plans for a new Coastguard station in Greystones; the total expected costs when complete; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe Department of Transport (DoT) is responsible for the investment in the Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) building programme aimed at ensuring that Coast Guard facilities along the coast are fit for purpose.
The programme is fully funded by the Department as the Approving Authority, with project delivery managed by the Office of Public Works (OPW) as the Contracting Authority, from planning and design to construction and ongoing maintenance.
The following table itemises the breakdown of costs that have been discharged on behalf of the DoT to date.
