The Committee met at 10.00 a.m.
Members Present:

Deputy J. Mitchell,

Deputy B. Durkan,

Deputy P. Rabbitte.

Deputy C. Lenihan,

DEPUTY J. MITCHELL in the chair.
Mr. J. Purcell (An tArd Reachtaire Cuntas agus Ciste) called and examined.

In regard to the question of the National Roads Authority and Limerick County Council, we should call Limerick County Council to explain the error of £3 million as well as the National Roads Authority given the report in yesterday's newspapers. They will be called before the committee on 14 September.

It might be helpful if we called SIAC as well because it would have insight into this. Simply bringing the National Roads Authority and the other side would make it rather unreal because I think SIAC would have a fair story to tell in relation to this as well in terms of how it approached the situation.

Let me consider that. We will also call the Secretary General from the Department of the Environment and Local Government. That will be on 14 September when we will receive an explanation.
