COMMITTEE of PUBLIC ACCOUNTS debate -
Tuesday, 20 Nov 2001

Vol. 3 No. 25

Business of Committee.

Acting Chairman

We agreed to mention under any other business that the voluntary disclosure scheme yielded £176 million, which is in part arising from the DIRT inquiry. This information is already in the public domain. This points to the useful work that can be done by a committee of the House if it is properly structured and support is provided. It is not completed and we hope that the return accruing to the Exchequer will be much higher.

The agenda for the meeting of Tuesday, 27 November 2001, will be the 2000 Annual Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General and the appropriation accounts for the Department of Agriculture Food and Rural Development - Vote 31.

Regarding a previous item, is it agreed to dispose of paragraph 31? Agreed. The committee is adjourned until Tuesday, 27 November 2001, at 2 p.m. I thank all the witnesses for their attendance.

The witnesses withdrew.

The committee adjourned at 6.35 p.m. until2 p.m. on Tuesday, 27 November 2001.
