To ask the Minister for Agriculture what steps the Government intend to take to protect the inshore fisheries around the East and South East coasts of Ireland?

answering for the Minister for Agriculture: In the opinion of the Government the observance of the existing bye-laws should afford ample protection to the fisheries in question. It is, however, open to persons interested in the inshore fisheries to submit for consideration their views as to the need for alteration in the present regulations should they consider such to be desirable.
