To ask the Minister for Defence to state the reason of the arrest and continued detention in Custume Barracks, Athlone, of William J. Duck, Secretary, Trades Council, Ballina; and, further, to ask what was his offence, and when it is intended to make a charge against him, or put him on trial?

Mr. Duck was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in an ambush. He was released on the 27th ult.
