Vol. 2 No. 44

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BIRR COMPENSATION CLAIM.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether is is correct to state that repeated applications have been made to him by Messrs. Clarke & Co., Birr, Offaly, for compensation for a motor lorry, which was commandeered on 26th April, 1922, by the forces of the Provisional Government from Mullingar; if he can state when he will be in a position to deal with this claim.

It appears that only one application was received from Messrs. Clarke & Co., who were then asked to furnish a statement of their account. The receipt of that statement cannot be traced. However, I am again asking the firm to supply the required statement.
