Vol. 3 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ ORAL ANSWERS. ] - RESIGNED AND DISMISSED R.I.C.

asked the Minister for Home Affairs if he has now received the interim report of the Committee of Inquiry into resignations and dismissals from the R.I.C., and, if so, having regard to the financial distress of many of the men concerned, whether he is in a position to state when the necessary legislation will be introduced to give effect to the promises made to these men by the late General Collins, and afterwards confirmed by himself in the Dáil.

The Minister for Home Affairs and I have under consideration the interim report referred to. I am not in a position to fix a definite date for the introduction of legislation based on the findings of the Committee, but there will be no avoidable delay.
