Vol. 3 No. 19

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE—ESTIMATES FOR PUBLIC SERVICES. - CHARITABLE DONATIONS AND BEQUESTS.

I beg to move:

"That a sum not exceeding £1,915 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1924, to pay the salaries and expenses of the Office of the Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests." (A sum of £1,000 had already been voted on account.) This Estimate is almost entirely in respect of the staff. When it becomes possible to reorganise the Civil Service, it might be considered whether some economy could not be secured by making this office part of a larger one.

Question put and agreed to.
