Vol. 3 No. 31

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - DELVIN DRAINAGE BOARD.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if the Delvin Drainage Board still exists, and, if so, where it would be possible to get reports of its proceedings; what funds are available for carrying out the necessary drainage, and if it is the intention of the Minister to have this work carried out this summer.

This is a question for the Minister for Finance, to whom I have referred it.

(replying forMinister for Finance): I have no information as to the continued existence of this Board. The Commissioners of Public Works have no responsibility for, or control over, its business.

The Drainage Board are empowered to levy the sums necessary each year for the maintenance of the district from the proprietors of land in the district.

I have no information as to any special works of maintenance proposed this summer, and no complaints have been received regarding the state of the district.

Is the Board still in existence?

I do not know Of course, there is no power where a Board goes out of existence to transfer its functions and powers to the Co. Council.

Will the Minister have the matter attended to?
