Vol. 3 No. 31

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - GARAGE OWNER'S ACCOUNT.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he has received claims amounting to, approximately, £700 from James Martin of the Central Garage, Ballinasloe; whether repeated applications have been made without avail for payment of these claims, or for a remittance on account; whether he is aware that Mr. Martin's business is considerably hampered by the delay in dealing with these payments, some of which are over twelve months outstanding; and whether he will take steps to have investigation and payment of this account expedited.

Mr. O'HIGGINS

It appears that claims amounting to only about £370 have been received at General Headquarters. Consideration of them is being expedited.

Mr. BYRNE

Arising out of the Minister's answer to this question, may I ask him when the claims from Dublin hotel keepers for the billeting of soldiers during the troubled times last July and August, and the claims of the Dublin shop keepers who supplied goods to the Army at that time will be considered?

That is a separate question. It must be put down separately.
