Vol. 4 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - A MILITARY PRISONER.

asked the Minister for Defence if he can state how long it is proposed to detain William Bracken, No. E. 686, who was arrested in Castletown Geoghegan, Westmeath, and is at present interned in Maryborough Prison; whether he has been charged with any offence, and, if not, whether it is now proposed to bring him to trial.

William Bracken, who was a Private No. R. 804 in the mounted service of the Army, was sentenced to penal servitude for seven years on the 25th October, 1922, by Courtmartial for mutiny.

Yes; but the man is not sentenced at all yet. He has not been tried at all yet.
