Vol. 5 No. 23

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HOUSING IN GORT (CO. GALWAY).

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the Gort District Council abandoned the building of nine labourers' cottages during the European War for want of funds; whether the proposed tenants of these cottages are presently living in houses unfit for habitation, and when he will be prepared to advance such sums as may be necessary to proceed with the completion of said cottages.

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative.

No representations have been made in regard to the houses at present occupied. There are no funds available now out of which advances, as suggested, could be made.
