Vol. 6 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LEIX LICENSED PREMISES COMMANDEERED.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that the licensed premises owned by Mrs. O'Callaghan, Clonaslee, Leix, was commandeered and occupied by Military Forces in 1922, that a claim for rent and destruction to property was submitted by the owner, whether the payment of this claim is being held up by order of the Ministry of Defence, if he can state the reason for such action, or say when this claim will be met.

Mrs. O'Callaghan's claim is being held up on the ground of complicity with the Irregulars, involving the use for the latter's purposes of the premises in question.
