Vol. 6 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ENNISCRONE (MAYO) PRE-TRUCE CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will cause inquiries to be made into the claim of Mr. Martin Mark Tolan, Enniscrone, Ballina, Co. Mayo, for loss sustained through forcible sale of motor cars and interference with his business by British Forces.

The claim in this case should be made against the British Government. It will, no doubt, be dealt with by the War Compensation Tribunal when such a body is set up.

Arising out of that reply, can the Minister give us any idea when this tribunal will be set up, or can he say what is being done in the matter?

I hope to be able to make a statement very soon about it, possibly within two or three weeks. Negotiations are still going on and have been taking place within the last three or four weeks.
