Vol. 6 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PAYMENT OF NEWBRIDGE SOLDIER.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Private Michael Russell, of Borehard, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Army No. 12309, attested 24th April, 1922, and was discharged 29th November, 1923, has not received Army pay for the first three weeks of his service after attestation, although repeated applications have been made for same and whether, as it can be certified by the O.C. Naas Barracks that Russell was on duty at Punchestown Races, 1922, further inquiries will be made with a view to payment.

Mr. Russell applied for arrears of pay on the 7th ult. The prescribed form was sent to him on the same date but has not been returned since. A further copy of the form was issued to him yesterday.
