WRITTEN ANSWERS. - FERBANE (OFFALY) CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received repeated applications from Mr. William Flaherty, Ferbane, Offaly, for payment of an account of £77 3s. 0d., representing charges for motor hire incurred by the local Military Authorities from December, 1921, to March, 1922, and if he can now state when he will be in a position to pay the amount due.

An account of £34 11s. 0d. from Mr. Flaherty in respect of motor hire was received by the Deputy on the 7th ultimo. It is under investigation, and will be settled as quickly as possible. The remainder of the account has not been received at Headquarters.
