Vol. 6 No. 34

WRITTEN ANSWER. - BACK PAY CLAIMS COMMITTEE.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Defence when it is anticipated that the Back Pay Claims Committee will have completed its adjudication on claims in Classes A, B and C. and whether arrangements can be made to enable a claimant in Class D. who is anxious to secure settlement of an old claim in order to be able to get employment, to have his claim considered without waiting until old claims in the earlier classes have been examined.

I regret that I am unable to state definitely when the Committee will have completed its adjudication on claims in the classes referred to. The work presents many difficulties, and claims are still being received. They are, however, being disposed of as quickly as possible.

If the Deputy will furnish particulars of any claim in Class D, which he has in mind, every effort will be made to expedite its consideration.
