Vol. 7 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - POSTAL SERVICE IN CO. CAVAN.

(for Pádraig Baxter) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he has received a petition or memorial from the residents of the Crosskeys district, Co. Cavan, protesting against the restricted postal service in the said district, and requesting that the original service be restored; whether he is aware that owing to the dispensing with the services of one of the postmen in the district the service in most parts of this area is curtailed to a delivery every second day; whether he is aware that a letter posted in Dublin on Saturday does not reach the addressee in Crosskeys until the following Wednesday, thereby causing grave inconvenience and delay to people in the district, and if he will state what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

I am having inquiry made in this case, and will communicate with the Deputy as early as possible.
