Vol. 7 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BLIND PENSION (LIMERICK).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that a blind pension payable to William Dwyer, Kilfinane, Co. Limerick, has been stopped on the ground that his wife, Mrs. Dwyer, received an overpayment of £33 dependents' allowance, and whether he will cause the circumstances of the case to be investigated with a view to restoring the pension with arrears due to Mr. Dwyer.

On consideration of the facts in this case it was held that the pensioner was not entitled on means to any pension during the period in which his wife was in receipt of a dependent's allowance of £1 8s. Od. per week in respect of her son, who was in the Army.

The matter of the overpayment and of the continuation of the pension is one for the Revenue Commissioners.
