Vol. 7 No. 11

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. CIVIC GUARD (ACQUISITION OF PREMISES) (AMENDMENT) BILL, 1924. - FINANCIAL RESOLUTION.

On behalf of the Minister for Finance I move:—

That, for the purpose of any Act of the present Session to amend the Civic Guard (Acquisition of Premises) Act, 1923, which provides for the compulsory acquisition of premises for the accommodation of members of the Civic Guard, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys to be provided by the Oireachtas of—

(a)rent for such premises,

(b)compensation to the occupier of such premises for disturbance, and

(c)where the Commissioners of Public Works have carried out structural or other alterations for the restoration of such premises on the termination of the tenancy to their original condition or, in lieu of such restoration, compensation for the reduction in the value of the premises consequent upon such alterations.

On a point of order, is it in order for anybody, expect the Minister for Finance, to move a Financial Resolution.

The Minister for Finance is in the Seanad.

I think an Executive member can take the place of the Minister for Finance.

Question put and agreed to.
